Multiuser diversity is used to select users for high-performance information transmission at the basestation based on the feedback information from all candidate UEs. When the closed-loop multiple antenna system uses multiuser diversity, the feedback load for both methods should be well balanced. While the close-loop multiuser beamforming system requires high-rate feedback to control spatial interference among selected users, the multiuser diversity scheme requires relatively small feedback load for each user[1].
